We can use the same Funds Ranking sheet available for download for various types of Long Term Savings account with some configuration changes.

What does Funds Ranking sheet offer?
- Allows us to consolidate funds in one place for everyone in your family grouped by individual family member
- Provides easy ranking of funds there by we can choose the top ranked funds for investment
- Also provides an exit signal if a particular fund is not performing as expected and the signal remains for past seven days
- Same sheet can be used for ETF or Mutual Funds as long as appropriate configuration changes are done (explained below)
- Historical downloaded data can be viewed on data sheet
- Manual entry of data is available, however "mix n match" of manual data with downloaded data is not available at this time
- Market timing tool is included in the same Funds Ranking sheet for easy access
Why do we need configuration changes?
- 401K/HSA/College Fund accounts only allow us to invest in Mutual Funds with many restrictions
- Traditional IRA/Roth IRA/Regular trading account allow us to invest in all types of financial instruments with fewer limitations
- All financial instruments behave differently and need different treatment. Think of it like cooking Italian dish vs American dish, both are tasty in their own way but need different method of cooking, right!!! Similarly we need ranking for Mutual Funds and ETFs but the ranking needs to be calculated differently
How to use Funds Ranking Sheet for 401K/HSA/College Funds account? - For Mutual Funds
- If you already have downloaded the Funds Ranking Sheet then click on "Clear" button to delete all symbols and data.
- "Sort Desc by Column" - In 4th row, enter "a" in column C and "f" in column D.
- "# of Recent Days" - In 7th row, enter "1" in column C.
- "Tag" - Use this column A to enter any label such as "My 401K", "Dad's 401K", "Wife's 401K", etc. This column is used to group by the label you enter here.
- "Symbol" - Use this column B to enter Mutual Fund Symbols.
How to use Funds Ranking Sheet for Traditional/Roth IRA, Regular Long Term trading account? - For Exchange Traded Funds(ETFs)
- If you already have downloaded the Funds Ranking Sheet then click on "Clear" button to delete all symbols and data.
- "Sort Desc by Column" - In 4th row, enter "a" in column C and "d" in column D.
- "# of Recent Days" - In 7th row, enter "7" in column C.
- "Tag" - Use this column A to enter any label such as "Bond", "ETN", "Inverse", etc. This column is used to group by the label you enter here.
- "Symbol" - Use this column B to enter ETF Fund Symbols.
